Arctic Photographer Fred Bruemmer dies at 84

Fred Bruemmer, whose photography chronicled the lives of the Inuit and the Arctic, has died at the age of 84. My condolences to his son René, a longtime reporter at the Montreal Gazette, and the rest of the family. He published 27 books and many articles. His work in the Arctic ranks with that of Richard Weber and Farley Mowat.  You can read Marion Scott’s excellent story in the Gazette http://www.montrealgazette.com/news/Photographer+Fred+Bruemmer+chronicled+life+among+Inuit/9307275/story.html

I have hiked and biked through Nepal, Cuba and Mexico. I also maintain a busy schedule of adventure traveling in Canada. Many stories in the blog were originally published in the Travel Section of The Montreal Gazette. My web site is: https://davestravelsblog.wordpress.com
