The Canadian Ski Marathon is planning a change to its course in two years on its the 50th anniversary.

The CSM wants the Mont-Tremblant-Montebello trail pioneered by Herman Jackrabbit Johanssen to replace the Gatineau-Montebello leg. Johanssen cut many trails in the Laurentian Mountains north of Montreal. The Montebello-Lachute leg will remain the same.

The refurbished trail will be called the Jack Rabbit Heritage trail.

The CSM is appealing for volunteers to map, clear and negotiate (in English and French) and work with several ski groups in the area.

The CSM also needs money. Donations of $100 or more will be tax deductible.
