Hop Over to Beer Exhibition

Looking for a spot to unwind when you finish work today? Then hop on over to the Palais des Congrès in downtown Montreal.

It’s the 10th annual Mondial de la Bière with many samples of suds from Canada, the U.S., Argentina, Brazil and Chile. Also represented are beers from Belgium, Germany, Ireland and italy. There is a wide range of tastes (including gluten-free) and alcoholic content. One of the most potent is 11.4 per cent Barghest from Microbrasserie Boquébière in Sherbrooke, Qc. A beer from Portland, Oregon, End of Reason by the  Gigantic Brewing Co., was judged the best in show.

The Mondial opens from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. today (May 31) and tomorrow (June 1) and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday (June 2). Admission is free and you buy coupons for samples. More information: http://festivalmondialbiere.qc.ca/en/festivals/mondial_de_la_biere_montreal_2013/

Cheers.

I have hiked and biked through Nepal, Cuba and Mexico. I also maintain a busy schedule of adventure traveling in Canada. Many stories in the blog were originally published in the Travel Section of The Montreal Gazette. My web site is: https://davestravelsblog.wordpress.com
